SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- The Amex Airline Index turned lower Tuesday, falling 0.3% to 50.58 points in afternoon trading. Northwest Airlines dropped 4.5% to $5.34 with Southwest Airlines , Continental Airlines and JetBlue Airways also in the red.
