SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Airline stocks on Tuesday closed lower with shares of Northwest Airlines off 4.9% to $4.51 and JetBlue Airways , Southwest Airlines , Delta Air Lines , ExpressJet Holdings down more than 2%. The Amex Airline Index fell 1.9% to 47.95 points.
