SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Despite record crude oil prices, airline stocks closed higher on Monday with the Amex Airline Index gaining 0.8% to 52.28%. Northwest Airlines rose 5.6% to $4.91 as the strongest percentage gainer in the index.
