SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- The Amex Airline Index fell 0.9% to 47.92 points on Thursday, weighed down by crude oil's new high in New York trading. Among the momost active stocks in the index, Northwest Airlines fell 2.4% to $4.11 as the company readies for a showdown with a mechanics union.
