SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Airline stocks closed mostly lower on Friday, with the Amex Airline Index off 0.6% to 44.35 points. With energy prices spurred by Hurricane Katrina, the index lost 8.5% on the week. Northwest Airlines lost almost 9% on Friday to $3.63 and is down 29% on the week.
