British Airways has increased fuel surcharges on its long-haul flights to $55 per flight due to record fuel prices. Other European carriers are expected to follow the BA lead. BA first introduced surcharges of under $5 in May 2004, and this is the fifth increase in a year. [AMEInfo.com]
