Brazil's Varig Airline Debt Rose To BRL9.5 Billion -Report (IWon - Money)

RIO DE JANEIRO -(Dow Jones)- The debt load of Brazilian Viacao Aerea Rio Grandense SA, or Varig (VAGV4.BR), has surged to 9.5 billion reals ($1=2.647) as of Dec. 31, 2004, and a restructuring plan for the troubled airline foresees the layoff of all of its 11,500 workers, Valor Economico said Thursday.
