Dhows hit by safety measures

Dhow cruise operators on Dubai Creek have claimed that new safety measures, which prevent them from using their upper deck for passengers, have badly affected their business, reported Gulf News. The Dubai Ports Authority outlawed the use of the upper deck following the cruise tragedy in Bahrain in March which killed 58 people. Dhow owners claim that they may need to raise prices to cover their losses which they estimate at above 50%. [AMEInfo.com]
