Emirates has equipped long-haul flights with a new device that will allow instant diagnostic testing of passengers who become ill on route. Developed by the UK-based Remote Diagnostic Technologies, Tempus can test blood pressure and blood oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, take an ECG and record body temperature and pulse. Readings are sent to a response centre in the US which analyses the data and advises the crew. [AMEInfo.com]
