FAA airline inspections inadequate, audit says (Houston Chronicle)

The Federal Aviation Administration may not have enough safety inspectors to ensure proper oversight of the rapidly changing airline industry and is not wisely using the ones it has. Those are just two of the the findings in a report released Wednesday by the Transportation Department's inspector general.
