Fossett prepares to break last great aviation record (Kansas City Star)

SALINA, Kan. - Steve Fossett hopes to conquer the last great aviation milestone with a nonstop, around-the-world solo flight. Fossett is scheduled to launch the single-engine GlobalFlyer Monday afternoon from central Kansas in an attempt to fly solo, nonstop and without refueling around the world.
