To set an aviation record, you need wealthy friends. Virgin Atlantic Airways founder Richard Branson (left) is sponsoring Steve Fossett's round-the-world quest. Branson joined Fossett on Sunday at the airport in Salina, Kan., where the flight will begin and end.
