Fuel costs could raise air fares

Rising fuel costs may cause regional airlines to increase fares by 5%, according to Qatar Airway's Senior Manager Ali Al Rais. He said the airline will spend about $100m over budget for 2005-06 fiscal year because of the increased cost of fuel. But the airline continues to expand routes and will be flying to about 70 destinations by the end of the year. [AMEInfo.com]
