Gulf nations eye C-130 upgrades

The UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are considering upgrading their C-130 military aircraft to C-130 Avionics Modernisation Programme, reported Gulf News. A senior Boeing official said that discussions had been ongoing with both Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, while talks with the UAE Air Force about the AMP should begin soon. The UAE has five C-130s and Kuwait just three, but Saudi has 50, the largest number outside the USA. [AMEInfo.com]
