Japanese and French to develop faster aircraft (The New Zealand Herald)

Japanese and French companies will develop a new commercial aircraft capable of flying faster than the speed of sound, says Japan's Trade Ministry. The two countries aim to create a successor to the Concorde and will conduct research into technology issues unique to supersonic flight.
