Oman has ordered two multipurpose passenger-vehicle catamaran ferries at a cost of $66m from Australian shipbuilding firm Austal, according to the Oman Daily Observer. Each 213-foot vessel has the capacity to carry 203 passengers and 56 cars. They will be used to provide a tourist service for trips to Oman's northern coastline. [AMEInfo.com]
