Plan Sees Airline Merger Done By October (RedNova)

Jul. 1--US Airways filed its official plan to re-emerge from bankruptcy yesterday, arguing that a merger with America West Airlines would provide more value to creditors than a liquidation of the airline's assets. A U.S. bankruptcy judge will consider the plan at a hearing on Aug. 9.
