Surcharges take off for air carriers (The Age)

Airlines are increasing fuel surcharges but hedging allows Qantas to hold its rate steady. British Airways, Europe's third-largest airline, will raise surcharges as much as 50 per cent this month to recoup part of the cost of record fuel prices.
