The Dubai Metro's first pier has been constructed on the Sheikh Zayed Road, between the sixth and seventh interchanges, marking the first visible sign of the project's progress along Dubai's main road. A total of 1,205 piers will be installed along the Metro's Red Line by the middle of next year. Piling work for pillars is scheduled to progress at a rate of one pile per rig every day. [AMEInfo.com]
