DIC to snap up $1.3bn Travelodge

Dubai International Capital is on the brink of closing a deal for the UK's budget hotel chain, Travelodge, for a figure of $1.3bn, reported Gulf News. The acquisition, which was first revealed last month, will see the hospitality chain change hands for the second time in just over three years, after it was bought in 2003 by present owners Permira from contract catering outfit Compass.
