The expert's view (The Observer)

I worked in aviation security as a profiler for the US carrier TWA at Heathrow in the late 1980s. We would check passports and travel documents as people queued to check in and ask about their travel plans. I never knowingly detected a terrorist, but we found people with false passports every day.
